Two words that can change your world (and someone else's, too!)
Join my email list at www.drarjan.com
Recently someone texted that they wanted to talk with me.
Of course, I went into a panic and called right away, because, of course, who wouldn't think that a brief text with a request to talk usually means something not great is happening?!
When we got on the phone, it was so far from what I was expecting, and it blew my mind.
They wanted to apologize. The apology was for something more recently but then stretched back for things from a few decades ago.
The words used were simply, 'I'm sorry'.
Now I know that may seem overly simple and to some, that may not mean much. To me, it meant the world. It meant that the hurt that I'd been holding onto and trying to let go and forgive were able to have space. It meant that all the years of meditating, therapy, writing and whatever else we all do to try to let go of those feelings dispersed.
At that moment, the simple acknowledgement allowed me, on some wierd level, to just drop and forgive.
I didn't need to talk about it. No more processing was needed. I felt a huge weight lifted from my mind and spirit.
While we may not be able to get an 'I'm sorry' from every single person that hurt us, and we may not even get those words from the people right in front of us, but what we do have power over, is that we can acknowledge the ways we may have (advertantly or inadvertantly) hurt others.
I'm big on focusing on the areas where we do have power in our lives.
I also feel very strongly that, when we make a turn in the right direction, it also frees up and gives permission to others to do the same. Is there someone that you feel like something you said or did hurt someone? Whether it was intended or not? Is there someway that you can make amends? A letter perhaps, if you don't feel strong enough to meet them face-to-face. Make a video and send it?
I feel that there's something perceptibly wrong in our culture that makes it too hard for people to, with heart, apologize for wrongs done. Is it the ego? Do we feel like we've failed someone and can't admit it? If you have ideas, let me know because I'm truly curious about what the root is and why we can't admit fault.

Embrace the Darkness This Season

drarjan.com - While most of our western culture wants to bring in light, movement and busy-ness to push away the feelings of darkness and the feelings that brings along with it, my body's natural rhythm is to get quiet. Here in the western hemisphere, we're moving into longer nights....colder temperatures and, for me, the plants and animals, a season of quiet. While most of our western culture ...

I skipped ahead and read your info on the video, in it doesn't say anywhere to add "black pepper" and all of the other videos that I've seen indicate that "black pepper" helps the body to absorb turmeric more efficiently, others also say to add cinnamon and ginger.

@ Dr Arjan Khalsa I tried your recipe a bout 10 years ago because I wasn't sleeping well & was having joint & muscle pain issues & thought it was caused by sleep issues & some minor health issues, WELL Here I am again. I recently recently was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica & Rheumatoid Arthritis & Cytokine release Syndrome among a few other syndromes. I believe I may have had these issues for a while & didn't know until I had one shot of the Pfizer vaccine & from there my health fell apart almost immediately & I am still trying to put myself back together again. After 4 months on that miserable drug Prednisone prescribed by a Rheumatologist who rudely ignored my councillors advice from the Arthritis Society, I encountered some scary side effects from that drug & attempted to call my rheumatologist & my family Doctor for support without success so I made a hasty decision to go off that drug so I tapered off over a week and a half then completely off of it & stayed off for about 4 months then my doctor prescribed Pregabalin to takes its place well at this point I wasn't willing to even take that due to its side effect which was acute heart failure. to make a long story short, I have been using holistic measure to help myself instead of using the allopathic practice because I became so toxic & sick from prescription drugs that I feared for my life & decided it was the best move & it was. I have been recommending your recipe & channel to those suffering this autoimmune disease & anyone else with autoimmune diseases & want a more holistic approach instead of Pharmaceuticals. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe, it really helps with pain at night & allows me to sleep.

    • @drarjan
      @drarjan 5 місяців тому

Hmmmm so well worded! I appreciate the kindness! You can do as much a or as little as you'd like. It's really based on what your ankle to handle. Some are used to having fresh ginger regularly and can tolerate a lot and some folks are more sensitive to the heat so need to take just a small amount. All which adds up to why I don't usually give specifics

I think you are right Dr Khasla. I am British but now live 7km from Russia in Finland's South. I do not feel I want to party or socialize in the snowy winter. I love to sit outside in my snow suit in the silence and listen to the birds on my feeder with a cup of hot milky coffee or your gorgeous golden milk ( made from your recipe). I love to bake bread or cakes in my beautiful soapstone oven heater and enjoy time with my cats. I keep the main room lights off and use salt lamps to light up my rooms and ofcourse I make a nice evening of sitting in my sauna and then going outside in the snow to cool off. I do not feel alone or feel the need to be pressured into doing things I do not feel are right for me and as you say I now embrace the dark and cold and the rest from all the summer work when I work hard to grow the food I preserve to eat in the winter here on my little farm.
